Dennis M. Whitmire

Dennis M. Whitmire was born in Spartanburg, South Carolina. Dennis moved with his family to Columbus, Ohio at an early age. His father owned his own business. He was a Plastering Contractor. Dennis graduated from Central High in 1965. He joined the United States Navy and became a Navy Medical Corpsman serving on ships, performing at different duty stations. Additionally, he served with the United States Marine Corps during the Vietnam War. These positions required leadership and business skills.

Dennis is currently a Licensed Practical Nurse, who is semi-retired. Dennis worked for several medical equipment companies and has managed sales operations in the US and Europe. Dennis’ last position was National and International Division Manager. He has owned and has been part owner of a production company, practice management and medical equipment sales companies.

Dennis has been married to his wife, Janice, for 38 years. They have two adult daughters. Both of their children achieved higher education and have careers. Their oldest daughter works in business management and their youngest daughter received a degree from Ball State in Telecommunications.
Dennis’ message to young people is simple: “Love this country, be a good citizen, have a dream and make your dreams bigger than your fears.”
