George N. Broom
Honorary Member
George N. Broom passed away and went to be with the Lord on January 31, 2015. He was an excellent fundraiser for the Percy Lee Brown, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund and always worked hard in other ways to help our youth advance themselves. He will always be an Honorary Member of the scholarship fund.
George “Nate” Broom was a friend and a great ambassador for humanity. He will never be forgotten. He served his country well as a soldier in the Vietnam War. He was a servant of God. If he liked you, there was nothing he would not do for you. If he didn’t care for you, he would tell you why he felt the way he did.
Looking at his interactions with his Boy Scout troop, it was evident he was passionate about our youth and helping them. He always preached the importance of getting an education. He was for anyone who was neglected or who was having a problem coping with the trials and tribulations of life.
He was affectionately called “The Last of The Great Guys” because of his forever-abounding spirit, his heart, his courage and his desire to make a positive difference in the lives of others. He had a gift of giving and never expecting anything in return. Yes, he would give you the shirt off his back and his last dollar.
No other words need to be said because he helped his friends and people along the way!
