Geraldine M. Brown

Honorary Member 

My name is Geraldine M. Brown and it is my great privilege to be selected as an Honorary Member of the Percy Lee Brown, Jr. Memorial Scholarship Fund. It is such an honor to be a member of this organization because my children were involved in the selection process that led to my appointment. I am extremely proud of them for undertaking this endeavor. Their father would be proud too. Percy and I were married for 66 years. He was a loving husband who loved his family dearly. He believed in his community and consistently worked towards making it a better place to work and to live. Indeed, this made my selection very special too and I am honored by it.

Percy and I are very proud of each of our eight children. We pointed them in the right direction and provided a nurturing environment that would allow them to be successful. Regardless of how limited our resources were, our children applied themselves and exercised what they were taught. I am proud of them because in their unique ways, each contributed to Percy’s legacy—love of God, love of family and love of community. Their lives are a testament to the influence that we had on them. All things are possible through Christ Jesus who strengthens us. I thank God for my family, His grace and His mercy. I ask that you continue to pray for us and for the scholarship fund. May God bless you.
