Larry B. Brown

Larry B. Brown is the third child born to Percy Lee Brown, Jr. and Geraldine Malinda Brown. He was born and raised in Steubenville, Ohio. Larry got the message early in life that education was very important and that great effort in the pursuit of his education was equally as important. Larry vividly recalls the tremendous emphasis his parents placed on acquiring a quality education and their charge that he should always do his very best. One of his fondest memories is when Percy visited his seventh grade geography class and stayed the entire period. Larry’s grade in that class improved dramatically because he knew his father was watching and had 'chastised’ him for his “poor effort.” Larry also was profoundly motivated to succeed after his oldest sister, Diane, was accepted into Bowling Green State University.

Larry attended Wittenberg University in Springfield, Ohio on an athletic (football) scholarship. In 1973, his junior year, the Wittenberg Tigers won a national championship making Larry and his teammates undefeated champions. He received a Bachelor of Arts degree with a dual major in Political Science and Sociology. Upon graduation from Wittenberg, Larry was accepted into Capital University Law School. While employed by Rockwell International, Larry completed the Rockwell International Corporation’s Management Training Program. During his tenure at Rockwell International, Larry earned a Masters of Business Administration degree from Xavier University.

Larry held several administrative positions in Ohio state government and ultimately retired from his Program Administrator position with the Ohio Department of Commerce. Larry retired with over 30 years of service. He currently is President and Chief Executive Officer of his company, Executive Business Technologies, Inc.

Larry married the former Arneta V. Whitmire and they have been married for more than 33 years. Arneta completed her undergraduate degree at Kent State University and received a Bachelors of Science degree in Elementary Education. She earned a Master of Educational Administration from the University of Dayton. Arneta worked 37 years as a teacher and administrator within the Columbus Public School System before retiring as an Assistant Principal. Larry and Arneta have two sons David and Michael. David attends Central State University majoring in Computer Science. Michael attends Columbus State Community College where he is pursuing a degree in Business Administration.
