Percy Lee Brown III

Percy Lee Brown III is the sixth child born to Percy Lee Brown, Jr. and Geraldine Malinda Brown. He was born and raised in Steubenville, Ohio. Percy feels blessed to be raised in a nurturing environment that instilled Christian values and morals.  This same environment encouraged education and a blueprint for pursuing higher education beyond high school. Percy witnessed this blueprint in action as each of his five older siblings left his parents’ home to pursue higher education.

Embracing his parents’ vision of attaining higher education, Percy attended Central State University, in Wilberforce, Ohio.  His older siblings challenged him to continue the legacy and also encourage his younger siblings to do the same.  Percy graduated from Central State University with a Bachelors of Science in Computer Science in 1983.  During his tenure Percy was a member of the Computer Science Club and Dorm Council. Percy also became a member of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity where he held office as Dean of Pledges. Later he was elected as Chapter President.  Percy received both State and Regional awards during his tenure at Central State.   While at Central State, Percy met Angie Marie West.  Angie and Percy were married two years later in August of 1985. Percy and Angie have been married for thirty years and both share strong passion for serving others in Ministry. Percy and Angie have served multiple roles in ministry as ushers, Sunday school teachers.  Percy also was ordained as a Deacon.  Percy and Angie also serve as Marriage Ministry Pastors.

Percy and Angie have three adult children- Aleia, Ana and William Brown. They have instilled the same values in their children that Percy Jr. and Malinda instilled in their children. Aleia is a visiting scholar at the Michigan State University Museum while she completes her dissertation. Ana is a master’s candidate in the College of Education and Human Ecology, Kinesiology Program at Ohio State University. William is completing his undergraduate degree in mechanical engineer at Prairie View A&M University. The entire family values and engages in service through their churches and various community organizations.

Percy is a Lead Software engineer Consultant at GE Aviation, and Angie is Business and Community relations Consultant. Percy continues his service through as chair of the Delta Theta Sigma Foundation Cincinnati Alumni Chapter, and Sigma Beta Club, youth affiliate of Phi Beta Sigma Fraternity Inc. The entire family is committed to continuing the legacy of Percy Brown, Jr.

The best advice Percy offers youth is to “Consider your service to others.  Do nothing out of selfish ambition or vain conceit. Rather, in humility value others above yourselves, not looking to your own interests but each of you to the interests of the others.  Philippians 2:3-4”
